We are a family-friendly, community church drawing our worshippers mainly from the villages of Northowram and Shelf. The age range of worshippers is from under one year to over 80 and we have a number of young families. Our worship is relaxed, middle of the road Anglican using both modern and traditional music. We have a small Sunday School with a growing group of pre-schoolers as well as some older children. Sunday School operates on the second and fourth sundays of each month, except during the main school holidays.
We make good use of our overhead projector and sound system and often use film, powerpoint and other resources to enhance the spoken word. Our theology is what might be described as 'liberal evangelical'. Our sermons are bible centred, reflecting up to date biblical scholarship and recognising the need to interpret the Word of God for today's world.
We welcome all comers and are in sympathy with the goals of the inclusive church network.
Every Tuesday morning at 9.30 - 11.15 we hold a Toddler Church - for parents and toddlers - simple songs, stories, prayers, craftwork.
Every Tuesday afternoon 2.00 p.m. - 3.00 p.m. we host a Community Choir which sings non-religious music and is open to all irrespective of belief or musical ability - it is about enjoying singing rather than top quality performances.
